Our board member, Tony is currently hard at work collaborating with the Chipata District Farmers Association collecting data samples and conducting surveys for our AFLAA program! Our beloved Jock has retired from the position of Director of Research & Development. Although it isn't unusual to have such an announcement come from someone of his age, especially after the 20+ years he has given to the organization, we're still finding it strange to imagine a Jock-less Full Belly Project. *However, Jock has worked closely with staff, volunteers and board members over the last year, since he first told of us his plans, to ensure that he set us up for a successful transition and impactful future.* We intend to push Full Belly forward to not only accomplish our mission and Jock's vision, but also to honor his legacy of ingenuity and global humanitarianism. So, we have been trained by THE BEST, and we are confident that we can bring Full Belly smoothly into a new era based on the foundation of innovation, sustainability, empowerment, and community that Jock built. In addition, the 2019 Feast has been cancelled, as we must devote all of our limited resources to our project in Zambia and our new STEM program. We hope to be able to have the next Feast sometime in 2020. Check out our Soap Press making a difference in Cancun, Mexico with the Soap for Hope program! Soap for Hope employs local community members to sanitize and press (with the Soap Press!) recycled bars of soap from hotels. Then, the soap is made available to those who previously had limited to no access, working to reduce the number of children who die as a result of poor sanitation.
