Impact in North Carolina

Hunger is not only about the absence of food; it's also about the lack of water. With the warmer and dryer weather we have seen over the past few years, a lack of water is the chief issue that North Carolina farmers face.

For over seven growing seasons North Carolina farmer Duncan Edwards (pictured right) wasn’t able to harvest a crop.  With the use of Full Belly Project's irrigation technology like the Gravity Water Pump and Mobile Solar Water Pump, nearly 5000 gallons of water a day can be supplied with ease. This will enable landowners, like the Edwards family, to generate income from farming. These tools can also create domestic manufacturing jobs for individuals to mass produce this technology. There is every indication that Rutherford County, NC will become a center for teaching sustainable agriculture in years to come
